Sprout Reaches out to Africa

We have worked with several communities in Africa to provide resources and permaculture design to help regenerate their land and community. We collaborate with people on the ground to accomplish this.

To date, our team has been able to:

  • secure a source of water by acquiring a solar pump to supply water to land,
  • send funding to help a local girl to get back to school and provide food for her family
  • supplied outreach and food for members of several struggling communities in Kenya
  • provide workshops to communities
  • provided school fees, uniforms for an entire orphanage to enroll in school

Our newest outreach includes:

Nairobi, Kenya

We have recently met a fabulous organization in Nairobi, Kenya, Breath of God Trust, who is caring for orphans in the slums of Kayole, Soweto. The organization is run by Anna Uma and her husband, Samuel Oguna. Together, Willis and Anna and Samwel created a small community garden that will help feed the children and provide a way for the community to be independent and meet the needs of its members.

If you are interested in helping out, would like more information or would like to donate to one of our projects, please contact us.

Hong Kong Community Composting

Hong Kong Community Composting

Hong Kong Community Composting Initiative

We encourage Hong Kongers to compost! It would greatly reduce the amount of waste on the already overloaded trash situation. Please check our Facebook page Hong Kong Community Composting and join our meetup group to learn more about Composting in HK.

We are working to create a Compost Network that people can use to drop off their compost scraps.

We are also looking for community garden and farm sites where people who are composting can share their compost scraps.

At the moment, we have a small space in Central where we accept scraps.  Come on down to Central, contribute your scraps and make a difference!
